Pirnaldere Husmen Ersoz office of architecture is situated on one of the hills of the Assos
region, facing the Aegean Sea and Lesvos Island.
After spending 12 years living and working in this region, Husmen Ersoz designs, at his office
that he finished building in 2012, architectural projects which he hopes will bring him closer
to the way of living that he dreams of.
He prefers to build buildings where he tries different patterns with the region’s natural
volcanic rocks, together with a team he formed of local stonemasons, keeping up with their
natural energy; slowly, meticulously and zestfully.
Situated at the topmost point of the topography, the building faces the ancient Assos hill in the
vicinity, the Ayvalik silhouette afar and the highest point of Lesvos in certain angles.
The
architect also endeavors to emphasize the power of the wind by embanking with rocks the
Northern Winds that he admires, which dominate the region. This is, at the same time, an
effort to create a monument for the Northern Winds.
